Captivate your Kids’ Imaginations with a Maker Space!

What is a Makerspace in education? It is basically a station or area set aside specifically for designing and creating with inexpensive supplies. Students are often given STEM or STEAM challenge task cards as inspiration for they’re creations. It’s an organized creative space! So what is in a Makerspace? They often include simple materials such as pipe cleaners, paper clips, paper, tape, recycled items, cardboard … see my list below for a ton of examples. What are some Makerspace ideas? Well I’m glad you asked! I have 52 printable task cards and labels for organizing the inexpensive supplies!

Captivating and cultivating the creativity balled up inside our kids is super-important. Makerspaces are a great way to let their imaginations run wild. I’m a huge proponent of open-ended ideas and organized spaces. Spaces that are manageable for kids to keep picked-up, well labeled and easy to assemble. My wife and I have created a really great Maker Station system to fit this need! There are tons of labels (including labels to fit Sterilite drawer containers and Uline Plastic Parts Storage Cabinets). We’ve also created 50 open-ended STEM and STEAM idea task cards. The tasks can be completed using the materials in the makerspace!
