Winter can be long, but there are so many exciting possibilities for fun! I live in Michigan, where it get’s pretty cold in the winter and we generally have snow! There are so many opportunities to enjoy this season! We have skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding (a personal favorite), iceskating, snowman making, and just enjoying a good old cup of hot chocolate by the fire after being outside in the cold! I’ve put together some fun Winter STEM Activities to celebrate the season and warm up those creative juices!!
These six engaging STEM activities are VERY easy and simple to put together that will make your life easier and make winter extra fun for your kids! All of the activities use materials pulled from the same list, so you can run one or all six without buying different supplies for each. Even better, the supplies are cheap, easy to find, and you probably already have some of them in your classroom or home!
These activities are also GREAT for winter class parties right before winter break! Because the materials are so easy to get, it’s quick and easy to print out one or more of the cards, set out the materials, and viola! A winter party activity that’s fun and educational!

STEM task cards are perfect for early finishers, maker spaces, and STEM stations. Use these task cards in small groups, individually or with the entire class. Students can sketch out their design, build, and answer the response questions on their worksheets.
